Here at the CDC we like to think of ourselves as a part of your extended family. We understand the anxiety that parents face when selecting a childcare program for their children. Our programs are designed to ensure that each child is shaped and developed while in their formative years. We are committed to providing the following quality programs for your children:
6 wk-12 mo
Each child and parent is greeted individually and warmly by all staff they meet. Warm good mornings can be heard from the front desk and throughout our halls.
After establishing when your child had their last feeding and diaper change, the fun begins! We believe that children learn and develop more successfully in a comfortable environment built on play and relationships. Therefore, many times you will find our infants on the floor interacting with the teachers, engaged in activities such as reading and finger plays
Here at the CDC we like to think of ourselves as a part of your extended family. The daily transition from home to center should be as smooth as if your child were visiting relatives.
All infants are fed and allowed to nap on demand. We check and change diapers every hour or as needed. Once the infants are older we change our schedules and room arrangements to fit their needs. Ultimately, we schedule our activities around the needs and demands of the infants in our care.
18 mo-36 mo
Toddlers at CDC have fun learning through play. Every classroom has a schedule that provides smooth transitions between activities. The toddler area has a toilet training area at CDC and the teachers and parents work together encouraging each child when they show readiness.
The following daily schedule reflects how your child will be spending their day in our care. A lot of hugs are included. Our toddler teaching curriculum is “Adventures for Toddlers”, a curriculum designed for children from 18 to 36 months, developed through a contract with the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.
3 yr-4 yr
At the Child Development Center, pre-school children spend their day in a fun learning environment. Your child will be experiencing "Adventures in Learning," a division of Child Care and Early Education curriculum.
3 yr-4 yr
Our objective for the CDC Pre-K Program is to challenge and enhance our children's experience through play, experimenting and modeling positivity while learning or mastering skills to prepare for kindergarten. We value our children and encourage character building and strong self-esteem. We offer scheduled field trips, music, and Chapel weekly.
We have a graduation ceremony in May, and the children showcase their achievements and receive awards. The summer following graduation is a review of the year and a summer fun activity filled program.
School Age Program
4 yr-12 yr
"Be Cool After School"
The "Be Cool After School" program welcomes children into an enriched, safe and healthy environment. We offer after school care for ages 4 years (Pre-K) through 12 years (5th grade). Families may also use our registered drop-in program to accommodate their children when schools are out for breaks, teacher workdays, etc. We serve healthy snacks approved by the USDA program. Part of the everyday fun at CDC includes using our homework room and learning centers, participating in our creative thinking activities, and playing in our indoor gym.
Summer Camp Program
"Vacation Sensation" is the CDC Summer program that begins early June and ends Mid- August. The "Vacation Sensation" program offers a variety of fun and entertaining field trips weekly, including swimming. We invite parents to share during Career Week, Friday Clubs that boost curiosity and explore our minds and a Music Camp with a Musical to show our shining stars' hard work. On non-field trip days, our schedule is packed with exciting learning activities, music & movement, and active play in our indoor gym. We provide USDA approved breakfast and an afternoon snack. Vacation Sensation has been a part of CDC for 15+ years.
